Support for Shared Device ID
« on: February 24, 2016, 11:42:26 AM »
I use Reicast in Debian Linux using Sega Saturn controllers. Specifically, I use this.

Both controllers are connected via one USB hub. In other words, I need Reicast to allow me to set evdev_device_id_1 and evdev_device_id_2 to the same ID. Currently if I try this, Reicast won't even start. It crashes immediately.

This is the only way I could play two player. If I set evdev_device_id_1 to -1, two player works. And if I set evdev_device_id_2 to -1, one player works. But I cannot set both at the same time! Very frustrating!

Thought I would edit this to make things more clear. This is what I need to work:

evdev_device_id_1 = 0
evdev_device_id_2 = 0

But these are the only solutions I currently have:

Quote from: [This makes it so only the P1 controller works]
evdev_device_id_1 = 0
evdev_device_id_2 = -1

Quote from: [This makes it so only the P2 controller works]
evdev_device_id_1 = -1
evdev_device_id_2 = 0
