« on: April 24, 2015, 09:49:14 PM »
The last update was the 12th of this month and its been 13 days since a new build release so is the next release going to be the final r7 build with I hope x86 support and whatnot or has nothing be released since skmp is busy?

I reckon the Dev is just busy and from what I understand he works on the emulator on his spare time so it's hard to say when the r7 will be released.

Has he been crowdfuning for the emulator like he said he was to do? And also I hope he gets plenty of spare time to work on this some more.
I just wanna play Reicast so bad!

I really want to play it too. It needs to be updated to andriod lollipop. Many people are complaining in the comments that it doesn't support the emulator anymore and it crashes to the homescreen after clicking on the bios or game.

Well, I don't about the others but mine work on my N7 (2013) and Moto X (2014) both running Lollipop.

I'm currently using the r6 version that is available in the app store.

In regards to the Devs spare time, this is a question that only him can answer and don't forget that the emulator he is doing it, so far, for free so no one here can really demand anything.

I want to play some of my favourites Dreamcast games badly as well but I know I cannot force the Dev to do anything.
The crownfunding didn't happen yet and I'm not sure it will, well, at least there is no new information about that.

Then thing is is that for me I'm running an Intel device so y'know really needing that x86 support which he said is suppose to be in the final r7 release also he said he was to crowdfund sometime in February or during march so I guess its never gonna happen.

Nexus is running a pure version of Lollipop thats why it works. I have a samsung galaxy tab s 10.5 and doesnt work on lollipop.

Well all my Acer is running KitKat but the issue is that the company has been putting Intel chips in its devices since 2014 so as a result not many major emulators like dolphin or Reicast can run with devices having x86 chips!

Guys, you need to understand that the Dev doesn't have all the devices to test it out. So you have to have patience.

I'd suggest you to try older versions of the emulator as they are pretty similar and at least you might be able to play the games you want.

That's the point ALL VERSIONS of Reicast aren't compatible with x86 device!!!!!!
I know its a time thing but come on theits been almost 20 days since the last build release you'd think out of those 20 days that there's some free time involved!

I know right?! He should really fix these problems otherwise almost no one can play on this emulator anymore. All new devices will come with lollipop out of the box.  I check daily for a ci build update and STILL NOTHING! :(

Yeah usually a build is released every 7-10 days but it's almost been 20 either he has very little free time or he's working on the emulator if that latter is the case it better be a HUGE build update!

Reicast isn't the only emulator that doesn't go good with x86 devices Dolphin Emu is another one but that emulator works but a x86 JIT is needed for games to run good on Intel devices.

Dolphin is a really good emulator but runs REALLY SLOW on almost all devices. They should update that one as well.

I mean its starting to get there you just have to have a really high end spec device for it to run games near full speed like the note 3&4 or the S5 or S6 or the Shield Tablet and those are expensive.
