Discussion / Relocating forums
« on: January 15, 2017, 06:22:29 AM »
Hello everyone,

Over the past years we didn't have the time to moderate/maintain the Reicast forums. As such we decided to join forces w/ DCEmulation and move our forums there. Link: >>> <<<

For a short while both forums will be active. We'll make this forum read-only in the near future, so please register over at DCE!

DCE is more active, has more moderators and will hopefully be a place of more active discourse :)

Meanwhile, we're also setting up a mailing list. If you're interested sign up here >>> <<<

I remember I tested SA2 and it was working, but i'll have a look over the weekend.

(yes, we got a couple of spam attacks recently and I had to make it a PITA to create a new account).

Feature Requests / Re: definitely need save state

No, many things are merged together (for speed reasons), and in many cases there are copies of the hardware state (also, for speed reasons). And there are a lot of other, complicated issues (RTC, bios/flash missmatch, configuration missmatch, etc). If you really want to try, i'd start by saving ram / vram/ aram. But right now, there's not even a way to cleanly stop the sh4 core to save the sh4 state. You will have to hook it to the sh4 scheduler. To even get anywhere close, you have to be *very* familiar with the nulldc/reicast code.

The main reason things are like that is, I never considered savestates in nullDC, and reicast is designed as "speed above all". Come over on irc for more details if you really want to try this ~

@RickArm, in the current state of things it is near impossble. There's no separation between caches, configuration and architectual storage - so you can't just write to a file and load it back.

Feature Requests / Re: Jit for Intel x86

It should mostly work, but it's an extremely untested use case. I guess I need an x86 tablet/phone -.-

There's preliminary support for HTTP right now, though i'm not sure you can use this with the android ui

This is already on the works, but getting GCC to work with the existing jits is slightly painful, so it'll take more time,

Discussion / Re: Reicast Lollipop support

No, HL & co are still out (and will remain like that for a while).

I can't even get it to boot on a simulated lolipop device here. Looks like I'll have to shop for some hardware. Again... :|

Tegra hardware, up to tegra4, is a bit limited on depth precision so these glitches happen a lot with it. Sadly, there's no work around currently

On which hardware?

Yes, that seems correct, and it should work. Are you sure the filenames are correct? Use an android file manager to make sure that the files don't end in .bin.bin (Two times, happens sometimes when renaming from windows).

You can also try a newer build from and see if that helps

Hrfm, I wasn't aware games that support anamorphic widescreen. This is a valid point.
